Radio Controlled Cars
A radio controlled vehicle (R/C) is a model vehicle driven from a distance using a radio controlled system. This has become a very popular hobby and is a great gift for the person who likes to be outdoors and enjoys model assembly as a hobby. Some radio controlled models require very little assembly, while others require much assembly. Radio controlled kits are available for kids of any age. This also includes the adult kids. The prices of these kits vary, so you can choose what price range suits you best.
Radio controlled (RC) cars are available with both gas (nitro) powered and electric engines. Nitro powered radio controlled cars can achieve speeds up to 65MPH.
Electric Cars
Electric RC cars get their speed from the RC transmitter that is used by the operator. When you pull on the trigger, the signal is sent out to the car to go faster. In addition, these models can use brushed motors but many hobbyists are now utilizing brushless motors because of their increased performance and ability to withstand harsher elements before needing service. Monster truck RC kits often make use of brushless motors due to that fact that these motors can provide more power output than their older brushed counterparts. They also use rechargeable batteries for power.
Gas Cars
Gas powered RC cars are often called Nitro powered cars. This is because they use a specially formulated fuel called Nitromethane. In addition, they use a typical internal combustion engine that behaves much in the same way as "real" automobiles do. Of course, these types of RC cars will need refuelling but that is often quicker to do than replacing batteries like in electric cars. Often, fuel powered RC cars can be driven faster and these cars can also weigh more as the Nitro powered engines can propel greater weight.
